To build your custom Solar Heating System do the following:
1) Figure out how many Solar Panels you will need for your pool. The goal is to have your solar panel surface area (Length x Width) equal to 50% or 100% of your pool surface area (Length x Width).
Example. If you have a 15' x 30' Pool your surface area will be 450 sq. ft.
You choose the 2' x 20' Solar Panel system. Each panel gives you 40 sq. ft. of surface area. So you will need from 6 - 12 solar panels.
2) Here is a list of what is required:
Purchase the Solar Panel System kit which usually includes 2-4 panels and a system kit (A system kit is required with each complete Solar System)
Purchase additional Add-on panels until you reach the desired amount of panels
For each additional add-on panel you purchase you will need a Panel kit (this includes the accessories necessary to connect the add-on panels to the system)
3) Here are some other Accessories that may help in the operation of your system.
Solar Diverter / By Pass Valve Kit - This is used to bypass the solar system and allow the pump run without water going through the solar panels.
Hurricane Roof/Rack Mounting Kit - This is a must have accessory if you live in south eastern United States with Hurricanes becoming a common occurrence.
Solar Auto Controller- Set the temperature and let it do the work. It will automatically turn on and off the solar depending on what temperature the water in the solar panels are.
